The mother of a man with autism said he didn’t know what he was doing when he uttered a racial slur, then got badly beaten by three alleged attackers in West Scranton.

Months later, the man with autism, Adam Clark, remains hospitalized, and his three accused attackers are facing federal charges, according to a report by FOX56 WOLF-TV.

Kyler Marshall, Corey Marshall and Nicholette Minich face federal charges of aggravated assault. Kyler and Corey are brothers.

Court documents say they beat Adam Clark on West Elm Street and South 9th Avenue after he used a racial slur last November.

Clark's mother said he didn't fully understand the racial slur's meaning since he's autistic. She says her son was out playing Pokemon Go when the group attacked him.

Clark remains hospitalized due to effects from the beating to his head and face, his mother said.

FOX56 reports Kyler Marshall has agreed to plead guilty to second degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault in the case. No sentencing date has been set.

Both Corey Marshall and Nicholette Minich told police they also took part in beating Clark after Kyler started it. Court documents state Kyler Marshall told his brother Corey to “get my knife” at the outset of the attack.

Police say Kyler Marshall has admitted the incident could have been avoided if he didn’t “lose his cool and go after Clark.”

Despite his admission of guilt, Kyler Marshall remains at large, as of last report. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Scranton Police.
